When I first discovered Azuki, I admit, I was all into other collections but something inside me lit 💡. I started digging deep into the collection and the traits and this is when the journey started. At the time, I was invested in other projects and could not allocate funds for an Azuki but something lingered. it lingered so hard that when Bobu dropped, I ran to it, when beanz dropped I ran to them and waited. To be very honest, when Azuki’s crisis happened, I sold MAYCs and went all in on Azukis not to flip but just to satisfy that lingering that was killing me on the inside.

Going back to May 2021, I discovered NFTs in depth through VeeFriends and the passion that Gary Vaynerchuk had put into explaining the future of NFTs. I had about 50k in combined following on Social Media and a community that I was blessed to cater to since 2018. I started thinking of NFTs and it happened that i was a huge DBZ Fan, so all of this mixed together. I launched my NFT project in November 2021. Anyway.

When Azuki dropped, I went into each and every trait, and the rabbit hole unveiled. Steamboy Zaga and the whole team did an amazing job combining so many cultures in an amazing mix. It goes so deep, it is never ending. The combinations, the structures, the traits are just out of this world.

Let us start with the combination of a skater culture, an asian accent, reminiscing on 80s vibes, all of this wrapped in a spiritual cover creating this humble yet proud character of an Azuki. The choice of the gate to the Shinto Shrine ⛩ as an entry to the Garden is a Marvelous move that goes beyond smartness to pure genius. Add to that the mix between the garden and the Alley gives an amazing combination of street vibes combined with nature and spirituality.

Now moving to the delivery, well it is just marvelous. The calmness, professionalism of the delivery is beyond words and the way the team interacted with the community is above what we have seen in the space. This added to the beauty of the project.

Going back to the collection, what makes me so bullish on its sustainability and growth is the simplicity that creates a limitless art you do not get bored of. The terrestrial colors made all the difference. A smart move that comes in reminiscence of a major brand that follows this palette and that sits in humanity’s memory. Guess which one? Answer at the end of the article.

@azuki

The Red, although flashy is still very smooth to the eye and capture attention without really shocking. It remains smooth on the eyes and passes flawlessly the test of time. The counter color which is the off white creates an amazing equilibrium.

Going deeper into the rabbit hole, what is the first color that pops when you think about Azuki, the red right? Well Red backgrounds account for 1,006 of the total 10,000 collection. The Blue + Purple which are very close both account for another 524 [Dark Blue], + 463 [Dark Purple], a total of 987. If we add the Cool Gray [483], Total of dark backgrounds including red accounts to 2476 so nearly 25% of the collection only is dark backgrounds, rest are variations of off white.

Want to go even deeper, lessgoo. lets go to types. There are four types right, well not at all. Humans account for 9018 but four skin complexions [I believe]. Around 10% are blue and red skins and less than 1% are spirits [97] to be exact.

If I wanted to analyze each and every trait, I would spend a year writing this article. But all of this to say that Azuki is far more complex than you think and this is one of the main reasons, I genuinely believe it is here to stay ⛩

@Azuki

As for the brand that literally everyone knows and is stuck in our memories is Harvard, look it out.

Correct me if I am wrong Steamboy33.
